Injection Encapsulation

Injection encapsulation is developed from traditional manual strip installation techniques It has provided designers with more options for glass assembly and structural design. It further enhances the efficiency of the vehicle assembly line, and can improve the strength of the automotive glass, reducing noise by improving the sealing function.

Encapsulation products:
•    PU-RIM encapsulation
     Material: Two-component Polyurethane (Aromatic, Aliphatic)
•    Thermoplastic encapsulation
     Material: PVUTPE(TPV/TPO/SEBS/TPS/TPU)/MPR/IPR/PVC
•    Rubber encapsulation
     Material: EPDM

Advantages:
•    Easy to fit vehicle design, can be with variant section design, compensates vehicle manufacturing tolerance
•    Encapsulation is firmly adhered to glass, the encapsulation surface can be used as a gluing surface
•    High dimensional accuracy by molding
•    Integrated with various accessories
•    Anti-vibration, sealing function, noise reduction
•    High assembly efficiency

PU-Extrusion Encapsulation

PU-Extrusion encapsulation uses mono component PU extruded through die tooling to apply to primed glass. The die tooling can be with variant section design, and is operated by fixing on a robot arm. The extruded PU can form U-LIP encapsulation or spacer blocks after curing in a moist environment.

PU Extrusion Section                                                    Typical Design

Advantage:
•    Simplified product design, a classic encapsulation design for bare edge grinding
•    Short design and development cycle
•    Low cost of die tooling manufacture
•    U-lip design can cover the gap between glass and vehicle
•    Water management can be assembled during extrusion process
•    Can be double-section design or variant section design with transition

Bonding Encapsulation

Bonding encapsulation is produced by bonding the encapsulation strip with different adhesion type. Encapsulation strips can be with simple or complicated section design or multi-component co-extrusion design. The bonding process is stable and low cost. This design can also meet noise reduction and dustproof function requirements.

Bonding encapsulation type:
•    PU-Bonding uses two-component rapid adhesive
•    Double-side tape (SM, TESA, BaoYou)
•    Adhesive (single/double component PU gluing, not-melt adhesive)
•    Special adhesion tape (thickness at micron scale)

Advantage:
•    Applied to variant materials, such as EPDM, PVC&TPE
•    Low tooling cost
•    Short development time
